Supporting the customer journey with Ballard Academy

Putting innovation and collaboration into action, Ballard Power Systems has supported partner MCV’s zero-emission transition and fuel cell journey from factory floor to full fleet deployment by providing comprehensive, hands-on training to the bus manufacturer’s technical team at focused workshops spanning two continents.
 

Delivering educational sessions at MCV’s manufacturing facility in Egypt and at the Ballard Academy training center in Denmark, the program combined in-factory teaching tailored to MCV’s production environment with mentoring in fuel cell essentials and commissioning, followed by advanced maintenance training.

Working closely with MCV’s engineers and technicians, the Ballard Academy team shared practical knowledge, operational insights, and real-world best practices to support the introduction of fuel cell technology into MCV’s vehicle platforms – enhancing customer value through knowledge-exchange, developing core competencies, and completing comprehensive upskilling.


This kind of two-way collaboration is core to Ballard Academy - supporting customers not just with technology, but with the skills and confidence needed to deploy and maintain fuel cell systems reliably over their full lifetime - turning Ballard's decades of fuel cell innovation into operational excellence.


The Ballard Academy exists to empower operators and OEM partners to commission, operate, maintain, and scale hydrogen fuel cell systems safely and independently through standardized, lifecycle, aligned, and digitally enabled technical training.

From commissioning through warranty and post-warranty recertification, Ballard Academy's structured programs combine an expert-designed curriculum, hands-on system simulators, and automated LMS delivery to ensure consistent global competence development. The platform's modules are designed for technicians, bus operators, and engineering teams who will support hydrogen fuel cell-powered fleets in the field.
